Do carpet beetles bite?
They do not bite. Some people get an itchy rash from contact with the fine hairs the larvae shed, which is a reaction to the hairs rather than a bite. If a skin reaction is bothering you, see your doctor. Treating the source is what stops it happening again.

What still gets damaged is anything in the room with animal fibre in it, so wool rugs, underlay, upholstery and stored clothing can all be affected even when the carpet itself is nylon. A wool blend carpet is at risk like any other wool carpet.
